REVENUES FROM FOREIGN TURISTAS UP 6.6% IN MEXICO
Revenues from Foreign Tourists Rise 6.6% in Mexico
MEXICO CITY – Foreign exchange revenues from international tourists rose 6.6 percent in the January-April period, compared to the first four months of 2012, the Mexican Tourism Secretariat said.
Total revenues rose from $4.65 billion in the January-April 2012 period to $4.95 billion during the same period this year.
Mexico welcomed 8 million foreign tourists during the first four months of this year, the secretariat said.
A total of 4.5 million tourists arrived by air, up 5.6 percent from the January-April 2012 period, with spending up 8.8 percent to $3.9 billion, the secretariat said.
Average spending by foreign tourists arriving by air was $870.20, up 3.1 percent from the January-April 2012 period, the secretariat said, citing Bank of Mexico figures.
